We believe that for a person to be able to attain and maintain optimal health and wellness that 3 key health components must be targeted. These 3 components are one's physical, psychological and physiological health. Only by selectively targeting these areas can we ever hope to be functioning at our best. Unfortunately, too many health and fitness professionals only target 1 or 2 components of this critical trio and the true effect of their coaching will never allow you to reach your true potential. At Chris Dounis Exercise Physiology we believe in a holistic approach to managing your health, whether your goal is to improve your fitness, lose weight, rehabilitate or just generally feel better about yourself.
The Chris Dounis Story
Starting in the health and fitness industry over 10 years ago after completing his Bachelor of Health and Exercise Science at UNSW he moved into community health and wellness in his job managing various Diabetes prevention programs in Western Sydney. Completing his Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2012, he sought to combine his passions for health and fitness into a business that would be able to reach as many people as possible.
Since that time Chris has been working in Sydney's Inner West and greater Sydney providing a range of services that include health and nutritional coaching, fitness, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, chronic conditions both privately and through the Enhanced Primary Care Plan, disability services through the NDIS, life insurance and worker's compensation/CTP. A member of Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), Chris is registered with Medicare and all private health funds, rebates are therefore available as are consultations through the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. For more information on the Chronic Disease Management plan please e-mail Chris on the contact page and he will provide advice on whether you will be eligible and other options for you.
Currently undertaking further study in nutrition, behaviour change psychology and rehabilitation, Chris understands that enacting behaviour change is a multi-layered process that is complex and requires a deep understanding of human behaviour. A tiered approach to helping you alter your behaviours is part of the coaching program that is offered.
